Cruickshank Court, Newburgh

The site at Cruickshank Court, for 20 years a derelict garage, has been transformed into one of the most impressive housing developments in the village centre. George Douglas Architects, who also designed homes nearby for our Devanha partners Aberdeenshire Housing Partnership, were keen to ensure that the architecture was sympathetic to the local environment whilst making the most of the terrific views over the Ythan Estuary.

Newburgh homes are constructed with advanced timber frame technology, designed to improve air-tightness, reduce heat loss and maximise energy efficiency, therefore reducing running costs for our members. We have 3 large family homes, all with ground floor bedrooms and spacious living accommodation to make them as adaptable as possible to member needs. The 4 apartments provide smaller accommodation to ensure that the variety of much-needed affordable homes in Newburgh is met.

The transformation at Main Street Newburgh took some time to bring together, however we believe its success vindicates Tenants First’s commitment to the regeneration of challenging sites, to ensure lasting contributions to affordable housing and the built environment in the communities we serve.
