What is a Mutual Exchange?
A Mutual Exchange occurs when tenants living in 2 separate properties decide that they wish to swap homes. Mutual Exchanges will be considered between Co-operative tenants or between a Co-operative tenant and tenant of a local authority, a housing association or Communities Scotland (formerly Scottish Homes). There will be no unnecessary restrictions on this process and it is free of charge; however certain conditions will apply. Full details of these are available from the offices of the Co-operative.
Things you can do using the Mutual Exchange Service
Search for a property
You can use our Mutual Exchange Search pages to view available properties. Just choose an area and the number of bedrooms that you would be interested in.
Add your property details to the list
You can also add your current property to our exchange.
In order to place an advert on the board you will now need to supply a telephone number that will be placed alongside your advert. This will enable anyone who is interested in your property to contact you directly. Your full address will not be posted on the website but the street name will be given. If you do not want the street name included on the advertisement you can advise us of this when you enter your details (this can also be found on page 2 of the form).
Just visit our Advertise Property page and complete a short form. Please allow at least 1 week for your property details to be added.
Remove your property details from the list
If you would like to remove your current property from the list, you can submit a Property Removal request by completing a short form. Please allow at least 1 week for your record to be removed.
