Aberdeenshire
Community Mediation (covering
Aberdeen
and Aberdeenshire)
offer an independent service to help resolve disagreements between
neighbours and other people or groups—such as problems with noise,
parking, rubbish, children, pets, fences, damage to property etc.
What
is Mediation? Mediation
is a way of dealing with disputes that helps those involved reach an
agreement which everyone can live with. Highly trained professionals will
listen to all sides to help find common ground.
It is free, voluntary and confidential and can stop problems
getting out of hand.
MORE
THAN 90% of FACE TO FACE MEDIATIONS END IN AGREEMENT.
What
would happen? a
mediator would visit you and listen about the difficulties you are having
and discuss options with you. If
you agree, they visit the other person/people involved and hear their
views. If everyone wishes to,
they will help all concerned work out a mutually acceptable agreement.
Comments
from people who have used the service are “ Things might have got
nasty if they were not brought out into the open and dealt with
properly” “I
feel a better person for it and the anger I had bottled inside of me had
finally left. My neighbour and
I are getting on fine now. Thank
you so much”
