Increasing choice and Improving Homes

The Co-operative has a programme for major works to all its properties, but we recognise that there are times when members might want work done before it is scheduled. That’s why, in April 2008 we’re introducing our new “Choices” concept for kitchen replacements. This will give members who have a clear rent account the opportunity to have their kitchens replaced before the Co-operative is planning to do this work.

There is a cost to the Co-operative if it replaces a kitchen before the end of its planned life. Any member wishing to take up this offer will have to make payments to cover this cost.

For example, if you wanted your kitchen replaced by us 4 years before it is scheduled for replacement, it would cost you £1,662 or £27.70 per month for 5 years. If it was 2 years before it is scheduled for replacement it would cost you £831 or £13.85 per month for 5 years.

There will be a limited number available each year.

In some cases if you are replacing your kitchen yourself we will pay something towards it.
