Development Team
Tenants First is expanding year on year through an increasing Scottish Government funded development programme. Our development section manages our portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects from inception to completion, and also co-ordinates community development or ‘wider role’ activities.
The key functions of the department are:
- Identifying strategic sites for regeneration
- Acquiring land for future development
- Securing funding for new projects
- Consultation with community representatives about new projects
- Preparing design briefs for new developments
- Appointment of consultants and contractors
- Overseeing design team work throughout the procurement process
- On site supervision and direction on building works
- Monitoring resident satisfaction at our developments
- Delivering wider benefits through employment, education, artworks and social enterprise
- Promoting and generating renewable energy
- Providing information and advice on housing to an increasingly diverse and multi-cultural community
- Researching and developing zero-carbon affordable housing systems
Staff
The Development Section consists of the Director of Development, Community Development Manager, Development Co-ordinator, Ethnic Minorities Housing Worker, and KTP Associate.
